New Group! Now what?

You just signed up for Convos and you started your very first group. Now it's time to put your Convos group to work for you.
We just updated the default group welcome page (shown left) with some pointers on how to get your new group off the ground. In the welcome page, we have outlined some of the key things you'll want to do.
We have listed them here below with links to our help center.
Create Content - With the "Group Item" dropdown you can add new pages, upload photos & files, create events, and more. This way when members join your group, you'll have some content for them to
Invite Members - What's a group without any members? To invite members simply click the "+ Members" link in the middle panel (next to your group name)
Customize your welcome page - When group members join the group, you can greet them with a custom welcome page. If you need some help designing a welcome page, check out our pointers or contact us. We'd be happy to help.

Designing a better welcome page

When you create a group on Convos, a Page is displayed in the rightmost panel. This is your default Group Welcome Page (shown left) and the first thing members will see when they access your group.
Why not take some time to make this welcome page unique before inviting members to the group? It's easy to do and can really make your new members feel welcome.
Get Creative!
As an admin, you have the ability to customize this page to display whatever you would like your group members to see when they access the group. Below are some examples of how a dinner party group might use a Group Welcome Page:
Group Name Quote Board Letter from the leader

Schedule Recipes ASCII Art

It's easy to customize!
Ready to customize your group's welcome page? Simply click the "Group Welcome Page" in the middle panel (in Pages) and your welcome page will display some simple WYSIWYG controls at the bottom.

Bryant Park Film night on Convos
Every summer here in NYC, HBO and Bryant Park team up to screen classic movies in the park every Monday at dusk. After a couple of years going to these, we've learned that it can be tough to coordinate things like who's going, who's putting down the blanket, who's brining wine, and who's brining solo cups to hide the wine.
We setup a Convos group for this and now everybody can stay on top of what movies are coming up (once they're announced) and we can all put our photos from the evenings in the Photos & Files module.

Organize a movie night on Convos
I just started a group for an ongoing movie night that we'll be having among friends down here in the LES. The Convos group is a great way to organize everything and keep movie night about watching great films - not about spending lots of time searching for relevant emails and flipping through web pages cluttered with advertisements.
