New feature: Photos in pages!
Monday, November 10, 2008 at 08:00AM This morning, we launched a new feature (one that many of you have been asking for) that allows you to add photos to pages. We setup a simple drag-and-drop process to do this and here's how it works:
When you create a new page or select an existing page, you'll notice an "Add Photo" button next to the title. Clicking this button opens your group's Photos & Files module with photos displayed in the thumbnail view. If you don't have any photos in your group, you will be prompted to add some.

To add a photo to the page, simply click, hold, and drag the thumnail of the photo (in the center panel) to the white area of the Page (in the right panel). When you release your mouse button, a window will open that allows you to resize the photo and preview the actual size.

When you're satisfied with the size, click "Add". The photo is now added to the page.

This is our first version of this as we are planning a more robust overhaul of Pages to allow you to better control the layout and presentation of information and media.
Give it a try and let us know what you think. We'll be looking for your input as we plan out a simple, more robust version of the Page editor.

Hi,
Great addition!
But it seems to work about 50% of the time. And loading is often very slow. Photo is added at the bottom of the page only. How can I add one in the center of a text page?
Many thanks!
This is the first iteration so there are some limitations. On the upload time, I'd suggest resizing the photo before uploading it to Convos.
In the next version, we're adding more support for layout options as well as adding more than photos.
